In cooperation with various different partners, the WCGE works towards the enhancement of research and teaching in ethics.
The Wittenberg Center has worked to acquire funding for the following endowment chairs in the field of business ethics. In turn, the Wittenberg Center benefits from the academic expertise and the networks of the professors supported in this manner.

Friede-Springer Endowed Chair of Business Ethics and Management Accounting at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg
The Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) has established a sponsored professorship for "Business Ethics and Management Accounting" as part of the Business faculty. The professorship is financed by the Friede Springer Foundation for five years and the Wittenberg Center for Global Ethics (WCGE) is a partner in this cooperation.
Prof. Dr. Philipp Schreck has held this professorship since February 2015. Prior to his appointment to the MLU, Prof. Schreck was researching and teaching at the Institution for Management Accounting and Controlling at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich (MLU), where he had previously completed his habilitation in 2014.

Vattenfall-Europe Endowment Chair of Energy Management and Sustainability at the Universität Leipzig
In cooperation with the Vattenfall Europe group and the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft (foundation for the Sciences in Germany) the Wittenberg Center has sponsored the Cair for Energy Management and Sustainability at the Universität Leipzig. Thematic work of the chair encompass analyzing the economic, ecologic and social aspects of a sustainable energy supply with an integrative and equal approach. Since September 2008, Professor Dr. Thomas Bruckner has been holding the chair. Previously he worked at the University of Würzburg, at the Potsdam-Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and at the Technische Universität Berlin. He led a research group for optimization in energy systems and climate protection as well as a project for integrated modeling of global strategies of climate protections.

DOW Chair for Sustainability and Global Ethics at the Leipzig Graduate School for Management
DOW Chemical sponsored a five-year Chair for Sustainability and Global Ethics at the Leipzig Graduate School of Management (HHL). The HHL is Germany's oldest institution of higher education for business studies and ranks among today's leading business schools. The training provided at the HHL aims at forming responsible business leaders. International relations and the link between theory and practice play an important role. From 2004 to 2009, Professor Dr. Andreas Suchanek was holder of the DOW Chair. He is the Chair and the Scientific Director of the Wittenberg Center. Since 1st September 2009, he has been holding the Dr. Werner Jackstädt Chair of Economic and Business Ethics.

Endowment Chair in Economic Ethics at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg
In response to an initiative of the Wittenberg Center the Dieter-Schwarz-Stiftung (Dieter Schwarz foundation) is sponsoring the Endowment chair in Economic Ethics via the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft (foundation for the Sciences in Germany). On the occasion of the University's 500th anniversary, Professor Dr. Ingo Pies took up the chair. Professor Dr. Pies is member of the Wittenberg Center functioning as Chairmen and Scientific Director from 2003 to 2005.
