(How) Can climate protection and competitiveness be reconciled?

In the 6th Academy for Energy and Acceptance industry and environmental groups came to a compromise.

The importance of ethics in practice is also demonstrated by the social debate on the transformation of our energy system: the energy transition can only succeed as a “joint effort” if new cooperations emerge. For this compromises are necessary, for example between climate protection goals and competitive industrial policy. 20 students from 19 different universities explored how these compromises can come about through a self-experiment. They were supported by impulses from the Agora energy requirement, the BDI, German League of the Environment and the Protection of Nature (BUND), RWE, the company Energiequelle, the energy avant-garde of Saxony-Anhalt, the chair of energy management and sustainability at the University of Leipzig and the WCGE.
